The Animated Series
The Animated Series first aired on September 8th 1973, following on from the success of the Original Series. Most of the original cast provided voices for their characters and the series went onto create 24 epsiodes in total, winning an Emmy Award in the process.
The Animated Series is often credited which having a significant influence on later Star Trek creations - especially with the introduction of the holodeck, the favourite form of escapism for the crew of Star Trek The Next Generation.
